Anyone else loves Gorilla Nuts like I do?

Tip...Give the scotchlok body a quick squeeze along the wings with lineman pliers before you try to back-off the wirenut or keep light even pressure with your lineman pliers along the wings as you remove the wirenut.

    ITE breaker replacement

ITE push-on loadcenters are pretty unique as far as ckt breakers go. ITE breakers will fit in other panels but only ITE breakers will work in their panels (as far as I know). The ITE's busbar bakelite mating tongue is wider.

    Detached Garage Power with MHF

Pic #1 The split bolt doesn't look to be dual rated (CU/AL) based on the color and lack of a separation saddle. I can't tell, but did your apply any alum. inhibitor compound (Noalox) to the alum conductors in the Jbox as well as at all connections (load centers)? If your ditch is still open you...

    Advise on Transfer Switch

I've installed a few styles of this product w/ success vs. a xfer switch. I like it because you can dictate "when and what" branch circuits attach to the genny's grid instead of dedicated transferred circuits. http://www.interlockkit.com/cutlerhamer01.html add the proper model of this or...

Bonded neutral/ground in new 200amp service?

From your pics, I compliment you on workmanship and future forethought. I do have a question though, the metal Midland jbox, is the enclosure electrically bonded? I cant tell from the picture. Sorry, just curious.

    Check a Rookie's Work?

    Check a Rookie's Work?

Hmmmm, lets see, then you never looked @ a busbar configuration diagram usually located on the inside of the panelboard cover. It give you the breaker position number and corresponding busbar connection. Plus w/ a little more experince you'll learn that if you go (leftside) top to bottom, breaker...

    Check a Rookie's Work?

Looks like a proud piece of workmanship to me. I would like to make a suggestion or perhaps a statement about a "pet peeve" of mine inregards to circuit continuity using conductor identification. When I install a service, especially if using SE cable. I always, from the servicehead into the...
