S2K Built for my son, by my other son

Thanks Floyd. Contrary to popular belief, I am not an uncaring and irresponsible dad. I am trying damn hard to teach my son right, and so far, he is doing great. Is an S2k twitchy? Hell, not really. More so than a land yacht sure, shorter wheel base sure, but that's not all bad. I remember a...

S2K Built for my son, by my other son

Jesus Christ guys, what in the world has this world come too. Everyone is an expert and knows better than everyone else. Safety safety safety except for the dumb **** you do, because since you are doing it its not dumb ****. I did not just fall off the turnip wagon and have no intention of...

S2K Built for my son, by my other son

I am quite familiar with this mindset and for the most part I agree. While it would appear from the surface that I am being stupid, my biased opinion is that I am not. I have been working hard to train my son in regards to handling this type of vehicle (on the track), as well as personal...

S2K Built for my son, by my other son

I am an OFM (old fat man) that went looking for a first car for my 17 year old son (Connor in South Florida), by having my 24 year old son who has a performance and fab shop up in North Dakota (Brett) source and build his dream car. Uh, I may have gone overboard. Brett found a very clean AP1...

Overbuilding a hitch mount Motorcycle carrier

How did I miss this thread for so long? Just classic. See, but all you gots to do is add cup holders. That way you have a nice place to put your beer as you are loading the bikes. Before you do that, I would suggest running this through Ansys to make sure the weight of the beer does not affect...

    Big vise build

If I was not as absolutely far away as I can get Conus, I would be there in heartbeat. Absolutely stellar job Royce. I do not know what I would use it for, but I want one.

    Show us your welding projects

I have not been posting much as of late, though I have been looking. Thought I would post one of my most recent projects. Over the last several years, I have become addicted to crossfit training. Not being one that can leave anything alone, I decided to build some new kit at my coaches request...

    Showing off my boys work

Thanks for all the comments guys Franz - I have gotten him TIG fingers, though I could not swear he uses them. As to welding, I do not anticipate that he wants to specialize as a welder. I think he sees it as a necessary tool for building cars. WhiskeyMike - He is in Bismarck. I grew up in...

I will do that Franz, thanks for the notes. We have talked about proper welding gear (which I have gotten him) but I didn't make not of the gloves. I also did not see the stand issue. I will pass this all on.

Thanks Franz. He did set up to back purge and claims the insides are perfect. I have not seen that but I don't doubt him. Most of his learning is through youtube and online research.

Thanks M-technik, I will certainly look at transitioning. I hate photobucket as its so problematic.

For those that are interested, this is the previous iteration of the car. Of course it started as a nice but high mileage stock vehicle. [/IMG]

    Showing off my boys work

Glad to know you can see them LX. As to education cost, I am happy to provide them, but I think my son is still trying to figure out his direction. He started with Mech Engineering but just does not want to sit behind a computer, He wants to be hands on. So I stand in the background and try...
