I'm going to be replacing my Vista 20SE alarm panel with a Vista 20P. Back when I originally wired it I did series wiring just using wire nuts and electrical tape - which is a rather inelegant looking control panel box. I'd like to use these connectors that I've seen in the alarm YouTubes...
His outbuildings are both new within last 2 or 3 years. And the only issue I might have is the ground coming from the service entrance to the pasture NEMA4 enclosure doesn't go into the ground bus. The electrician who hooked it up with my solar cut that ground from the service entrance feed at...
@rlitman Thank you. I'm following through with these grounding changes in the pasture enclosure and the barn. Happened to be talking with a friend who has 2 outbuildings with sub panels from the main service. He has 2 electric vehicles and each of those outbuildings had to have the neutral...
Got the GE SP1 device installed in the main house panel and one in the pasture panel that feeds the barn but haven't gotten to the barn's yet. But I did get the answer to your "open up a can of worms" question and need to provide a bit more detail.
I had solar arrays installed (see attached...
I'll have to check tomorrow. It's been over a decade since that was run. I can't remember if it's 3 or 4 wire feed but I'm guessing 4 because I vaguely remember questioning whether the barn should have it's own ground or just the ground from the panel feeding it and being told different things...
@rlitman I've picked up the GE Type 1 and will install this weekend. I also have a smaller 70 amp GE sub panel in my barn. Even if the main panel it's fed from has the GE Type 1 I'm considering putting that GE THQLSURGE in the barn as well. It's a buried feed about 75-100' from the main panel...
Well, in my case it's a finished basement, so I think I'd rather have it in the panel, even if that meant having to replace a GE breaker or two - THQLs aren't all that expensive.
I have a GE PowerMark 200amp load center but I've already finished the basement where it's located. Everything I've read puts the Eaton CHSPT2ULTRA at the top or very near it for bang/buck. However, it would normally be mounted off the side/exterior of the load center and that's not possible...
I just bought a new Makita MAC5200 portable air compressor. It will see sparing use in my garage, mostly to air tires. (I'm tired of taking the 5 gallon portable tank to QuikTrip to have air in the garage for tires.) Now that I have a compressor I *might* get a larger impact (I have the mid...
Also I called the office here in Kansas City. They don't sell repair kits for the 62035 as they "don't make economic sense to supply" but I can buy an entire replacement hydraulic "motor" for $78 (part LYD3G.300). I asked if the hydraulics used o-rings or u-cups and he immediately said "u-cup"...
Hiball: I'm confused. Are you saying I should appreciate the short engagement angle of the HW type of design or that I should appreciate the wider engagement angle of the Menards or Safeguard type designs?
I'm hoping HiBall can take a look at this thread again. I was all set to go with the HW 95632 3ton. It would run $400 from a local independent tool company (one of only 2 independent tool retailers left in Kansas City I think). I went to check it out and I was really disappointed with the...
Thanks - that's really informative. I'm waiting to hear back from Shinn Fu's Kansas City office as to whether they have a public facing sales operation at their facility. It'd be a 20 minute drive.
I had to stop by Menards last night to return some plumbing supplies from last weeks honey do...
