Check out patent number 95,392 granted to W.X. Stevens manufacturer Millers Falls for a hand vise. I believe this is the patent that was used for the vise itself, but the hollow handle was added. No reference to Alford. Maybe he designed the addition of the hollow handle but didn't patent it.

I'm a new member to this site. I ran across it while researching hollow handle wooden combination tools. I am trying to compile information on the patents, patentees and the tools themselves. I see from this forum that there is quite an interest in them. Is anyone on this thread compiling...
