What worked for me was gum. I believe I used the fruity flavored, juicy fruit? I just placed several sticks throughout their system of tunnels. That was 17 years ago. Haven't seen a mole since.
I had a small job recently and couldn't justify the expense. I used the shark bite fittings. They were a little more money but it was super easy for my job. I'm no plumber so there may be pro's and con's but haven't had any leaks yet.

The company I work for developed the Breezy Living line of doors/screens like this. I think they sold it off or something. Not sure who is producing them now. They were kind of neat but didn't work too well if you had a low garage ceiling.
Cool. Can't wait to have a listen. When you use your purge fittings, are you feeding off the same tank your are welding from or do you have a separate argon tank? Many times over...AWESOME work. Thanks for sharing your story.
