Ridgid brushless impact driver: can't even loose lug nuts?

Just saw this YouTube video. He tested a hex Ridgid impact driver and it could remove a nut that was torqued to 225 ft lb. Skip to minute 12:15.

Ridgid brushless impact driver: can't even loose lug nuts?

What do you all think about the Ridgid subcompact 1/2" impact wrench? I like its size.

Ridgid brushless impact driver: can't even loose lug nuts?

Which one do you have? I saw there are 2: brushed with claimed 500 ft-lb and brushless with 600 ft-lb. For my home use only once in a while, I'll probably get the brushed (cheaper @$130 + 4A batt and charger)

This is what I use. It isn't "necked down", is it?

Ridgid brushless impact driver: can't even loose lug nuts?

Thank you all! I appreciate all your inputs. I understand that using a hex-to-1/2-inch adapter introduced loss and also the "claimed" torque is always exagerated but I just didn't expect that a claimed 187-ft-lb can't even move a 83 ft-lb nut :) Ok, thanks for the suggestion, time to get that...

Ridgid brushless impact driver: can't even loose lug nuts?

Hi all, I do have air compressor and impact wrench at home, but I thought I could buy the Ridgid brushless impact driver for its convenience (https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/cordless-brushless-impact-driver). It claimed to have 2250 inch-lb, which translated into 187 ft-lb of torque, that's what I...

Should I replace my 30-year old campbell hausfeld air compressor?

Thank you so much everyone, now I feel better 🙂 Yes, everything works great except the manual on/off switch. It stuck on ON so I turn it on/off from the power strip. The pressure shut off switch works. The pressure release valve works. The pump runs great. They really made things to last in...

Should I replace my 30-year old campbell hausfeld air compressor?

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. My compressor still works great. The only thing that stopped working long ago was the manual ON/OFF switch so I turn it on/off on the power strip. I was just afraid that the tank would suddenly explode. Did that ever happen anywhere?

Should I replace my 30-year old campbell hausfeld air compressor?

Hi all, I have a 25-gallon campbell hausfeld (made in USA, belt drive, oil-type) that's 30+ years old: - I used it probably at most once a month to air up car tires and occasionally running air tools at home (impact wrench and ratchet.) I drained the tank after every use and the drained water...

I have it for several years and I think the fluid was full when I bought it. I'll check again. Thanks!

Thank you for your comment! The HF was exactly as you described: ALL or NOTHING :-)

Can it be lowered very slowly under weight? The one I got from HF dropped down too fast, no matter how slow I turned the screw to release the pressure.
