Just saw this YouTube video. He tested a hex Ridgid impact driver and it could remove a nut that was torqued to 225 ft lb. Skip to minute 12:15.

What do you all think about the Ridgid subcompact 1/2" impact wrench? I like its size.

Which one do you have? I saw there are 2: brushed with claimed 500 ft-lb and brushless with 600 ft-lb. For my home use only once in a while, I'll probably get the brushed (cheaper @$130 + 4A batt and charger)

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. My compressor still works great. The only thing that stopped working long ago was the manual ON/OFF switch so I turn it on/off on the power strip. I was just afraid that the tank would suddenly explode. Did that ever happen anywhere?

Can it be lowered very slowly under weight? The one I got from HF dropped down too fast, no matter how slow I turned the screw to release the pressure.
