I've had good luck with the Stihl KM130 for hedge trimming; it's got awesome torque. However, the 4-Mix engine is either idling or wide open, so it's a pain when you're using the string trimmer attachment. I prefer traditional 2-strokes for that and stick with Echos...
I have had one of those for about a year, and so far it's been great. I think it's definitely worth the low cost It seems to be very abrasion resistant; I guess time will tell how it holds up.
Proto is definitely top shelf stuff. Besides, you can shop around online a lot because many sellers offer them. You're basically buying MAC tools for a lot less.
I like imperial measurements. Metric is all right, but it's just a little too sanitary. It's subjective I guess, but I'd much rather reach for a 3/4 than a 19.:bounce:
I have the 44" HF and it's pretty awesome for what it costs. I looked at Waterloos and Craftsmans, but the HF box is built a lot heavier, and it's still very affordable.
Those oil filter pliers are pretty awesome. They work great for stubborn filters, cause the teeth are super aggressive, and the jaws fit in tight spots.
