Reed vise question that I'm sure has been asked many times. I have a 403 1/2 R. The static jaw swivels and I can't seem to remove the pin. I have the base off and can get a drift in there to tap on it. It's STUCK! I've put kroil on it and it goes in right away. I'm pretty sure the kroil is going...
I have a Stewart warner 4041-B2 grease gun. What is the best way to clean these up? Is there a service manual out there anywhere for these? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I picked up a vintage kennedy toolchest today. Not sure if I over paid for it, but it's a nice box. I paid 500 and it's in really good shape. Probably from the late 80's. Style number 52611-938588 is the top box. What do you think?
Yes, the jaws are completely closed. They are lined up pretty well. Thanks for the advice, that was my line of thinking also. I'm working on getting a 2in pin so I can knock it out. I'm going to keep feeding it kroil for another week then heat it up and hit it with a pin. Ill keep you posted...
I have a wilton cadet that I have partially disassembled. Everything is off except I cannot remove the dynamic jaws. It's STUCK closed. I've soaked it in evaporust, I've used liquid wrench, I'm currently using kroil and will continue until I run out of it. After that, I'm going to take it to a...
Ok, I'll put it back into the evaporust for a week or so. I've just read horror stories about getting these vises apart. If I ever get it apart, it'll be a nice vise again.
I have a wilton cadet that the moveable jaw is stuck inside the body. I have soaked it in evaporust overnight and still nothing. Anybody have any ideas on how to get it apart? What is your thought about drill a small through the base making so I can put some lube in the bore? This thing is stuck!!!
