Solution for mounting lights to ribbed exterior surface

Okay, here's my solution. Since I'm in the body repair profession, My natural instinct is to use body filler. I needed 4 bases and each light hit the metal in a slightly different place. Therefore, I needed 4 separate forms. I took 1/2" plywood and outlined my light base by about 1/2 inch. I...

Anything you wish you had under the slab? (other than radiant)

That looks very nice. I have considered the floor pots but not the receiver. I like it!

I wanted to insulate. That was part of the reason for not doing radiant. 2" of XPS was crazy expensive. The gravel is already in and compacted so I would have to "compact" it another "x" amount or remove it. I'm thinking the 1/4" stuff would be a waste of money but I could probably get away with...

I will be using "rapid air" system so there would be no joints under the floor. At least I shouldn't have to worry about it blowing out.

Sorry, no woodworker. I might make a little sawdust from time to time though:). It will be to work on cars. (mostly body and paint)

It doesn't show it in that picture but outlets are facing the "inside" of the interior posts. Almost every post in the entire building has an outlet on it. I ran extra conduit to the rear of the building. I ran 1" to almost everything so I will have room to add more wire later if needed.

I'm not a huge fan of the drain in the floor. We are sloping the front half of the building to allow for slight drainage/car washing, etc.

Holy ****. That doesn't look good. Maybe that was the only place? (fingers crossed)

Great idea. I have already thought of putting a drain hookup for the water heater though.

Anything you wish you had under the slab? (other than radiant)

After several months of building, I am about 2 weeks away from pouring concrete. Trying to cover all the bases on putting what is needed or wanted under the slab. Currently I have the conduit for all the electrical and plumbing needs. I really wanted radiant but I couldn't justify the expense. I...

    Radiant floor last minute thoughts

Hey guys, what a great source of information here. For the last several weeks, I've been on here reading everything I can about radiant floor heat. (many nights until the wee hours of the morning until I can't stay awake.) I have been planning my building for a couple of years and really...
