    Garage door maintenance

PB blaster has a garage door lube spray. Go to Lowes/HD, there are several. I believe PB is a dry lube with a solvent carrier. You should be able to use the same stuff on the springs, or WD40, or a thin bead of motor oil (along the top). It will wick between the coils. If you want to remove the...

Vulcan MigMax 215 Looking for Schematics.

This is why I went with a Lincoln MP. I was looking at the Vulcans, but the prices were not too much cheaper. A few hundred more for an established brand with an extensive retailer and service network.

Am I screwed when it comes to building a garage?

I'd move and get the hell away from the power lines. Maybe find a place with a sweet shop already.

Is this Husky 46'' box worth it?

For 175 I'd be in on that. Its a good box. Are they soft close drawers? I have one that's 24" deep. I like the idea of 18" because of where mine is and it can be a pain parking the cars in the garage with the 24. I wonder if I would wish for 24" depth if I had an 18er.

Weight limit of attic area above garage

There are specific nail patterns that need to be used (so many every x inches, within so much of the edges, etc.) and with an adhesive between them usually. I'm not saying yours aren't done right, good framers usually know how structural members need to be nailed. It ultimately a question for an...

Weight limit of attic area above garage

If it wasn't originally built to have "floor load" up there (usually 40 lbs/sqft), then there likely isn't any "extra" load capacity that was unused. Builders don't build extra for free. For example, those sistered 2x12's don't necessarily hold more capacity. If they aren't fastened together...

    Best garage door opener lubrication?

I have the PB blaster stuff. It works fine initially, but doesn't seem to last a really long time. Of course, it's been at least a year so it's due again.

    Anyone Tear Down a House?

I'm kind of surprised a hurricane hasn't wiped it out already....

    Anyone Tear Down a House?

Um, nope. If it's close enough to exposures for the OP to think twice, it's too close for sure. If it's in the "ghetto", likely none of the home are well kept, and home like that tend to burn easily. How do I know? Firefighter, 20 years on the job. Jacksonville where? (edit: I see, FL) Within...

Anyone actually set fire to something with sparks from the grinder?

Dude, you can't drop that last little bit and leave it there.... story time!! :)

Anyone actually set fire to something with sparks from the grinder?

An H2O fire extinguisher has a 2.5 gal capacity. It's great to have in addition to an ABC dry chem, but it's not at all useful to put out a grass fire that has grown beyond about 10 square feet. Any kind of breeze will quickly spread it beyond what you can do by yourself. My advise (I'm an 18...

    Pole Barn Build Youtube

The guy is using balloon framing for a structure that people will be living in. I hope he has good insurance and a good evacuation plan.

Let me see your labscope carts!

Might be a tek 475. I have a 475 and it looks like that but not a great shot of it. I do think the 2 look similar though..... Sent from my SM-G920V using The Garage Journal mobile app

How is everyone measuring slab psi?

What about cutting out the areas where the posts will mount and pour higher pressure, reinforced footings in those spots? Or is that's what's meant by "pads?" Sent from my SM-G920V using The Garage Journal mobile app
