    I ordered a Stubby and Jobber with that thought. I have guide block I haven't used yet so that's a good thing I didn't order too much. I'm not cost to worry about cost. If I can get the job done quicker and clean that's all the matters.

    110% I updated the OP with my more or less my take way and what I bought and gonna experimental with it all. Yeah, I don't see reason not to do this too. HSS is what I used and got me overthinking this subject. Thanks again, everyone, for all the feedback!

    Ahh good points! I'd just like to have more options for when I do more these jobs. Especially when mainly is only 5mm size for taps. Hyper/turbo bits Pros: cleaner holes when in thinner material. Speed not needing punch mark and pilot. Cons: can't sharperen.

    Thanks everyone for the input! I finished the job already. Tapping wasn't bad I had a good tap already and was able to get clean taps. I didn't think about measuring how deep of a hole I needed. To what fastener and bracket I had to mount. This was for safety sensor bracket. Either Good...

    I've read some where there mainly for sheet metal. My only experience with them was drilling out a wheel stud that had cross thread lug nut on it. This is question would be curious when would some use or not use a turbo step bits?

    I've heard something about that.. But I've told just go slow and consistent pressure and it should be fine to use Carbide bits. That's more or less what I was doing.
