If you are ready to practice a lot and blow more than a few holes through it you'll be able to make the pipe solid but don't expect it to look good. I had to do a field repair on my BILs jeep Cherokee with a stick welder and couldn't get the current set just right always too hot or cold.

i have a lincoln 256 with the high-end spoolgun and i love it. The only thing i could want is the ability to tig with it or have gotten the 350 with the push pull gun and the tig but that was 4 grand more than my 256.

I've got a IR professional 80 gal 2 stage 240 volt 30 amp compressor and even when i fill my tractor tires it wont kick-on until i am done. Although it is a 2k air compressor.
