Pass through socket on the retaining Nut with the appropriate bit socket holding the strut shaft steady. A ring spanner will do exactly the same job just a few moments slower.
Hello again.
There is an online manual though it doesn’t address this point. One of life’s mysteries - I will shoot Autel an email ( based in China.)
Enquiring minds need to know.

Thanks Scott. I will try two scans on a different vehicle tomorrow. One marque specific, one global/generic and see if I can pin codes down to each. While I am at it I will also try and find a way of identifying historic as opposed to live faults.
Regards for now,
Mark
I thought we had it there but I checked a scan of the same vehicle back in June. It had the same faults though listed as local not remote so I guess that rules it out being generic data?
That’s really interesting and it had not occurred to me.
Yes: without any individual marques paid for and downloaded, the Autel ap200 does have a generic scanner function. If I understand you correctly, you think that a local code is one found in the individual marque software, and a remote...
Hi. Thanks for your thoughts. The OBD2 reader is an Autel AP200 where you pay for each individual marque. In this case it’s Fiat though I have seen the same with other marques downloaded: VW, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault, Mini.
Therefore I think it’s peculiar to Autel.
Thanks for your input. I wondered that myself though I don’t think that’s the case as all faults were cleared immediately before the scan. Ie: they are fresh faults.
Hi Guys,
Can anyone enlighten me please. Here is an example of some OBD2 faults. ( I fixed the problem which was a lack of turbo boost from a VGN turbocharger causes by a break in the reference live to the turbo boost control valve.
What a don’t understand yet is the difference between a...
Using a difficult to source fastener dissuades the average Joe or his garage from working on his VAG group car thereby allowing the stealership to ram people on maintenance.
Some examples that come to mind: 7mm female Hex on caliper sliders. 9mm 12pt tty bolts on flywheels. M8 or M10 ZXN...
Many thanks Gents. I was basically being too delicate thinking that I was going to break the lugs. I just now followed Motoretro’s instructions and gave it some commitment and it rotatated into place with a click. Thanks for all your help as always. Mark.
Thank you very much for checking. Truth is I cannot remember. I normally use disposables and I just checked quickly before leaving for work earlier. I am going to try again in a few hours and report back.
