I found a 15'' 1/4'' drive Snap-On extension under the hood of my GMC Savana work van I had recently purchased for new job. I figured it was a free gift with purchase of van, LOL!
Funny, I was thinking the same thing the last time I was at Sears, but with their combo wrenches instead of the sockets. The same damn thing but different price. Might as well get the Evolve set and save some bucks. I like the cardboard (go Green) recycled packaging they come in.
It's a GMC Savana 2500 cargo van. I just don't want to rely on the cheap wrench that the jack comes with to remove the lugs. I'd rather have a nice long breaker bar and socket for better leverage. I remember having to change a tire on the side of the road in my father-in-laws Chevy Express van...
I'm looking for a cheap but US made socket to keep in my work van in case I have to change a flat tire on the road. The size I'm looking for is 22mm 6 point deep well in 1/2" drive chrome or impact. I stopped at Sears and they only had 12point chrome deep wells and their impacts are Chinesse...
I'm glad I got out of the Auto business. I would spend more on tools than I would make. The cars got real difficult and time consuming to work on. I just did not enjoy it anymore. I only do the occasional side jobs on friends and family vehicles. I remember just before I quit, it was really...
I throw some of them silica desicant bags that come in some products you buy to keep the moisture out of my tool box. I've got a bunch of them and they seem to work ok.
I have the Craftsman standard stubbies that are made in the USA, but never got the metric set. The new China ones are a joke. I was wondering if anybody here had any inputs on a nice set, preferably US made if still possible. I mainly will need sizes 10mm 12mm 13mm 15mm and 17mm. Thanx in advance.
I got the 26 piece full-polished Craftsman combos right after Christmas time when they went on sale for $165.00 ( original price of $180.00) Then right after they came in, I went on-line to find that they dropped the price to $150.00:shocking: I called customer service to see if they would honor...
I just improvised an Exhaust Manifold spreader to line up the bolts on my small block Chevy engine in my truck. I used a 3/8" drive deep well socket, a bolt, large washer and a nut. Threaded the nut onto the bolt, put the washer between the socket and bolt and placed it between the exhaust ports...
I use my laptop computer all the time in my garage when I work on cars that I am not to familiar with. I look up things on Youtube, Mitchell On-Demand, and car forums for info. I also use it to play my Pandora radio station.
