Looking for manual for old Sears Compressor 106.153681 (or anything 106.nnnnn)

Yes that's a pretty high number, I have a motor that draws less that I could swap onto it if I don't see it. I don't really need a compressor, but I did want to see how they worked. Reed valves are surprisingly durable.

What torque did you use on the 6 head bolts?

I mentioned in a few comments previous I have a 15A motor I can install, and I pulled the head and found 2 broken valves. So the parts hunt proceeds...

Thanks for the verification. This is quite an old rig, I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

I assumed the 2 loose valve pieces had broken off of the rest of the metal where the 2 screws go through them. I'll have to clean it up and disassemble it to be sure. It sounds like you're saying they just came loos from being clamped in. I'll take a closer look. Replacement parts on ebay (e.g...

I just got a 106.153681 that needs two valves. Do you know where you got the 3rd picture?

Popped the head off, have you guys ever seen this before? The cylinders look pretty good to my uneducated eye. The valves on the other hand... Now to try to find parts for this old beast. Or fabricate valves from... feeler gauges?

Thanks RTM and The Cobbler, I'll swap motors and then start diagnosing the pressure issue. I kept the compressor from the old rig so that may come in handy as well. I appreciate all of the help.

There's a small tube next to the piston output tube that goes to a small switch on a box where the power cord connects, then power goes from that box to the motor, I was guessing that was some kind of pressure turn-off switch. Is the adjustment for it in the head above the pistons? Regarding...

Yes I was just thinking about that, I have a motor rom an old compressor that had a recall notice on the tank (because a few of them blew up apparently) and it only draws 15, I know my ct. can handle that, so I'll swap the motor over.
