I have that same exact heater, the fan does not run continuously. I have my heater installed at the center of the far wall facing towards the double garage doors (24' x 24' garage) with an oscillating fan in one corner to help circulate the heat.

Why would you shut the radiant heat off during a vacation? It costs so little to maintain a temperature once achieved that it makes no sense to lose the heat sink to save a few dollars.

Quit being a cheap SOB and hire a Surveyor. You will get professional, licensed results.

Thanks Doc. I will follow those steps tomorrow after work and see if I can get the plugs to break free. I did spray them down with PB Blaster this evening, so hopefully that soaks in a bit.

I was wondering about putting heat to the plugs, but wasn't sure if that would compromise the tank. Safety valve works well. A few cans of brake clean, some fresh oil, and draining the tank and I'm hoping it will be good to go.

Print off an aerial photo of your property. Sketch your trenches in, then measure each end or angle point from two separate points such as: northwest corner of house and northeast corner of house or corner of house and fence corner, etc. Show lineal distance of trench and approximate depth. An outswing door is also an option. I have one on my garage. Works like a champ and frees up interior wall space.

I have had no issues with these working in temperatures as low as -20 (I have two in an unheated shed).
