Saylor Beall pl-705 oil turned white

This is my first oil change so it was whatever saylor beall used. They say to change it every 3 months and i went a year. Its in a home hobby garage. It runs about twice a day during the week and on the weekends i actually use it so it may cycle 10-20 times. I changed the oil and put in...

Saylor Beall pl-705 oil turned white

I have a Saylor Beall Pressure Lubricated 705 pump which i bought new about a year ago. Recently the oil turned a white glue color. I am guessing this has to do with the colder weather and possible moisture. I changed the oil but it is still fairly white colored. I'm thinking next i will...

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

I did something similar with my smaller compressor after seeing this post. Its a stand alone after cooler so there is less temp drop. Only about 15 degrees but it gets the air down to within 5 degrees of ambient. 100-85. If i did it again i would try to make my mounting solution lighter weight.

Greater than 6" long hex bit sockets

I'm in need of about a 10" extra long hex bit socket in the 6mm size. I have only been able to find ones 6" long. Does anyone know someone who makes something like this? Alternatively i could use a short 6mm hex bit socket with a 1/4 inch drive instead of 3/8 drive. If anyone makes that?

Air tool swivel fittings: looking for feedback

I have Dynabrade 95460's on my tools i need to get in tight spaces. They are nice but expensive around $25. I experimented with a cheap one from lowes, no problems yet, does not move as freely as the Dynabrade but is fine.

    Bench Grinder options

I have my eye on the Baldor 662R which is going for $295. I have never had a bench grinder before. I mainly do classic car restoration and automotive repair. I thought a wire wheel would be nice to clean up parts. Is a 6 inch grinder big enough for my use? What other options should i be...

    Oxyfuel cart recommendations

I ended up going with the SafTcart 935-8s although I do have some reservations about not going with a front to back option.

    Oxyfuel cart recommendations

Got the largest tanks I could buy and not rent. 125cft oxygen and 75cft acetylene. Before I take the caps off them, I need a cart. Should I get one with a firewall (like OSHA  wants) between the tanks? What do you recommend for a home user in their garage? Manufacturers and specific...

SK compared to the big 3's 2nd tier tools?

I recently ordered deep well 1/4 metric and standard sockets. One set in SK and one in Williams USA (Note you have to look closely at the part numbers; some is not made in the USA). I compared them and they were both really nice. I think the Williams had a little better finish in the rounded...

    compression tester

You can test the engine without turning it over. So out of the car or with a dead battery. You can test either at the top of the cylinder or at the bottom. While testing you can see where any gross leakage is happening and can see bubbles or hear the air.

Replace pump or entire air compressor?

We bought this compressor new and it broke a few years back. It will not start. It tries to but cannot get the initial inertia to spin the pump. The electric motor works fine when disconnected. The pump makes banging sounds like rod knock when turned. I believe this added friction is too...

Hobbyist Grade Crows Foot Wrenches Recommendation

I just looked at the orillys performance tool ones. They are made in Taiwan. They looked like they would work and were 16 bucks. I was not thrilled or impressed with them or anything. Lots of the other online offerings are made in china. If that is something that matters to you. The lowest...
