None of the sockets in the lower row have any markings; not even sizes.

    R.F. Sedgley "Hexall" Hex-Drive Socket & Ratchet (K&S)

I know this is an old thread, but its one of the only ones that mentions of the Will B Lane ratchet. I picked up this set yesterday (it came in an old wooden Kraft cheese box). The ratchet is easy, its a "Unique". I'm curious about the sockets. The 12-point sockets just have the size and...

    Craftsman Lathe Chisels Central

Craftsman Lathe Chisels, 1930s 1933-1939: 8-inch Handles, with 4-inch blades During this period Craftsman (CM) lathe chisels were only sold individually; there was no option to buy a full set. Every ad listed the handle and blade length (8" & 4" respectively). There were 8 chisels listed each...

    Craftsman Lathe Chisels Central

I picked up this set of 8 Craftsman Professional lathe chisels recently. These chisels have 10" maple handles. I'm pretty sure this set is listed in the 1948 & 1949 CM Power Tools catalog ('49 catalog entry included below). The handle size is correct and the box is wrapped in artificial...

    Craftsman Lathe Chisels Central

I've searched the forum for Craftsman Lathe Chisels and found a bunch of posts and pics spread around. I thought a single thread may be useful to post questions, comments, observations or anything else. From reading the catalogs, it appears that CM usually mentioned the handle length of their...

Where can I get replacement springs for this type of lock mechanism? Its a 1952-59 3-drawer Rolling Cabinet. This thing has been flooded several times with saltwater, so I think its time to replace them.

11-Piece Heavy Duty Socket set (3/4)

    I picked up this set today, with a few extras, for $100. All the CM pieces are =V=, except an extra 18" circle-K slider bar. Also included were a 24" Proto 1"-drive slider bar; a Bonney 1" x 3/4" adapter; a Walden 14" extension; a Proto 4" extension; 2 Billings sockets (1 7/16 & 1 9/16); an...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks. Yup, I figured out the locking mechanism. It was a cool little puzzle. Rust and zero lube left on the slides and the lock slide made it tougher. Now I also understand why the have the "garage door" on the 5 drawer model.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Look what followed me home. Sold between 1953-59. The chest is really nice. Only minimal rust and the felt in the top center drawer is still intact. The grey on the inside is pristine, check out the inside of the cover. The cabinet has rust inside and out but is still solid. I got it home...
