heating for garage 30x40x12 / what are my options ? 1200sqft

Correct, history is important. You are referring to pre confederation when Ontario could be considered West as there was no other provinces that were a part of the greater Canada yet. By 1905 Western Canada was solidified with Alberta and Saskatchewan joining confederation. Since then Western...

Obviously you're not Canadian. Check out Rick Mercer, he loves interviewing Americans on their knowledge of their northern neighbours.

Better check your geography. Ontario is definitely part of eastern Canada. From Manitoba to British Columbia is western Canada.

Trojan UV. Good system, but I bypassed it years ago. Instead I just shock my well once per year which helps control the iron bacteria problem I have.

Certainly your reading comprehension is not the best. We could have a discussion on how grounding systems and breakers interact, but that should be a separate post. So just to repeat myself, The grounding system will take the stray voltage and the current that goes with it safely to earth...

Minisplit users in the North East, how long does it take for your detached shop to warm up?

Its pretty impressive. I looked at the chart and can see that even at -31f its still producing around 17K . I would like to see another column in the chart showing COP or watts inputted.

You can use a 10/2 AC90. But don't drill it through the concrete as I previously said. AC 90 doesn't like sharp bends.

By code it doesn't need a disconnect, but if I was doing the install for a customer I would hard wire it and put a 2 pole disconnect on the wall within easy reach.

In a perfect world electricity does go back to source. I dont need to even argue this point anymore. I set up zero sequence ground fault relays all the time, I know how they work and they definitely are not looking at the neutral.

I'm not doubting the point of a neutral and how it interacts with a breaker tripping. I'm talking about ground faults, you know when stray voltage is going down to earth. The grounding system will takes the stray voltage and the current that goes with it safely to earth. That's why we install...

    2) As Mike said just hard wire it, but you need to have a disconnect switch. The disconnect can be mounted up higher close to the unit. For other tools you should install a separate circuit once you figure out what is that you will need. 3) Keep your heater and future welder separate. 4) The...

Lightning doesn't care. Most houses are not adequately grounded/protected to survive a direct or even indirect lightning strike. The main reason I can see for having the extra ground rods is to facilitate the shortest path to ground in the case of an actual electrical fault. Up here in Canada...
