    30 x 40 Michigan Build Thread

It's been a long time since I updated this thread...apologies :lol_hitti The barn is all but finished now and has been in good use over the winter. I did finish up some of the 'decorating' a few weeks ago so I thought I'd share a few pic's of the interior now.

Got to finishing up the ceiling yesterday...I have to say it sure is nice to be done with it and I think it looks good. Here's a picture looking in the front door for Justin1795... I did finish up the wall cabinets last weekend, the gap between them is for a custom cabinet I am going to make...

...your are soooooo right about that, I can't wait to be done moving stuff around! ...the trusses are "light storage trusses". The pitch is 5/12 and that gives me 7ft of headroom in the middle and 12ft width in the center section.

Thanks  Most all of the interior will be together before winter with the intention of using the barn this winter for projects. The ceiling has been manual labor and ladders. I did get two more panels up last night, which I think only leaves 4 more to do...hopefully by Saturday...

Well let me see... I did get the gas furnace hung last weekend, still need to wire it and put the vent up. I also got my compressor moved into the compressor/generator room on the barn of the barn. It's wired to a switch next to my bench for easy access. I did get some of my Gladiator wall...

    Compressor laboring

Had the same issue on mine a year ago, changed the belt for a new one and all is well...I didn't believe it was the belt but that 's what the Service Tech told me and he was right.

I have been happy with the Atlas so far, had a few different vehicles on it including my 3/4 ton Dodge with the Cummins TD engine. I friend had the same one before me and had no issues with it for about 5 years.

Made some more good progress over the last week or so. All of the steel is on the lower walls and the back wall is all steel... Steel on the long wall and trimmed around the windows... Here's a close up of an outlet, it looks good so long as you miss the big ribs of course... And three...

"Drywall V/S other wall & ceiling coverings" who has what ??

I did the combo drywall above 4ft and steel below on the walls and steel on the ceiling. I really like the way it turned out. Cutting for the outlets in the steel was really no big deal, just need to space them in between the main ribs on the panels. The ceiling looks good too...and no...

I think the framers only waited about 2 days before they started setting poles.

Lighter weight on the trusses, no taping, mudding or painting...just screw it up and it's done (and I like the look too )

Thanks for the heads-up, I will watch for it.

Thanks for the kudos. The steel on the walls is light gray. The outlets are mounted in regular plastic boxes that are nailed to the studs behind the steel. You just need to adjust the position to not be where the large ribs are on the steel. I cut the holes in the steel just under-size for...

It's only low on the front which is managed now with a drain channel across the front, this was needed regardless of the barn to drain the driveway...so it's a win win. The rest of the grade needed to be raised up to meet the barn, all in all I think it's going to be fine.

Well it's been a while since I posted any updates, sorry! So progress has been a little slower than I would like but I had some projects that had to be done first. All the drywall has been finished and painted and then I got to work on the stripes... I have never had much luck with painter's...
