    My motorcycle Garage

Good to see another 2stroke fan. Nice collection of RD's.

    The Concrete Underground

I can understand the withdrawal symptoms on what is a brilliant build and fantastically documented thread. Clearly there are reasons for the delay so lets just all take a cup of concrete and harden up.

    Motorcycle Garages Only

All legit. It is actually a fridge / drinks trolley converted from old mobile post box. I had some custom made and one was gifted on my departure.

Yeah, she is pretty mint. I bought this new in 1985. Recently picked up the period 4 into 1 as originals disintegrated.

    Garage workshop restoration - NZ

Hey Hotz - yep, the brakes from bikes in the 80's were made from wood. A bit of an update. The wife got me a couch for my birthday. I figure this is good endorsement to spend more time in the garage! Also located the drill press and built a utility shelf. Seems to be ok so far.

    The Red Room

Looking good and great set up. I like the idea of hanging the old bike on the wall as art!

Hi Ray - I am based in Wellington. Daimler is very nice and part of the family, bought new by grandfather in 1965 and passed down the line. I restored the body and interior about 5 years ago. Need to attend to engine now, which was part of the motivation to get the garage sorted!

Thats interesting about the 500's. I caught up with some 2 stroke guys in LA a few years ago and did the Malibu canyon roads on a loaned Kenny Roberts RZ350 (fantastic and very generous) and there were a few of the 500's around too. Birthday = giving it some attention. Yes its stock and want to...

The 500 is the one missing from the collection. Fairly rare and pricey here unfortunately and quite a few Jap imports. Here is the RZ350 - I am giving it a bit of a birthday at the moment but is fairly mint having only done 17,000 km and last registered in 1986! I picked it up a couple of...

Good on ya. I am in the North Island. The South Island is definitely riding heaven - especially if you had a month and got some reasonable weather. There is good riding on offer in the North as well so don't be shy in finishing off the job! p.s. I think the wife is planning on us being in...

    Garage workshop restoration - NZ

The bench top is 25mm chipboard used for flooring and seems pretty solid. I don't intend to be bashing stuff on it and is more for working at and set it at 1m high to save my back. I will be bolting a couple of stands to the floor to take big vice and drill press / grinder etc - and might set...

Thanks for the comments. Yes it has taken a fair bit of time for sure! I think it would have been easier to bowl it and start again - but it has been fun all the same.

Now for the latest situation. I have finished the painting and yesterday laid Racedeck on the floor. This has made a big difference to the look and feel. Yet to set tools etc up properly with grinder, drill press and welding gear yet to find a home. I have a bunch of wall bling...
