25 ft tape measures. Whenever I start a project, I can never find one. Then, when I go buy materials, I buy another one. The last time I did a total cleanup of the garage, I had 14. I put them all in one drawer, and I noticed that now I’m back down to 6. Time for another cleanup.

This is 2-2-2-4, underground mobile home feeder cable, from Lowe’s. I guess PVC conduit is in my future.

I’m replacing the feeder that goes to my garage, from my main panel in the house. My question is, how do you run direct burial cable through a crawl space? Is conduit required? The wire path, through the crawl space, saves me about 20 ft of cable, and 75 extra ft of trenching. Thanks

I had almost the exact same situation. The contractor replacing my sidewalk, “found” the feed to my detached garage. 3 conductors of #2 alum that was laid just under previous sidewalk. No conduit. No marker. Not even direct burial cable. Now, I have to replace about 100 ft. and do it right...

I would suggest printed wire labels, available at Lowe’s or Home Depot.
