    Much appreciated,I believe what they are calling it is the ratchet dog and screw.Basically it prevents the punch from backing out when you need to move the handle.

    Awhile back I picked up a Whitney no 40 punch at an auction.I thought I had no use for it,the shear ridiculousness and being almost free I had to buy it.More and more I realize I do need it,only problem being the detent mechanism is long gone with no real clues on how it worked.I don't suppose...
