    Drilling holes into lift post

Honestly putting it together you can definitely tell it’s from China lol. Quality is way better on the rotory. But it’s 1000-1500 more. I do like the 3 piece arms and screw pads. It’ll get the job done though.

    Drilling holes into lift post

Maybe but I couldn’t go all the way around because it would hit the lift arms going up. I think I could use some magnets with clips or zip ties to keep my wires organized. I’m don’t think I’m going to run a disconnect because it’s close enough to the breaker box/line of sight. I don’t think 2 or...

    Drilling holes into lift post

So I just installed a Bendpak xpr10as and it doesn’t have any predrilled/tapped holes for running the air/electric workstation. It says do not drill into the post but I see no other option at this point. My mind says it will be fine but the worrier in me says don’t do it. So who here has drilled...

Milton V Fittings - Generally Recommended?

I run Milton M at work, tried converting to V a few years ago and became a hassle of having air tools that wouldn’t work anywhere else, so I went back to M. Didn’t notice a difference of torque on my impacts either. V I think is only needed for HVLP spray guns and Sand blasters that use 3/8...

    Radiant and mini split questions

Thanks for the help everyone. Found a company local that helped steer us in the right direction and we bought all our supplies from. Went with NTI boilers, FTV 150 combi. It will do our DHW as well. Went 5/8 rehau pex a tubing. 9 circuits 12” on center 400’ total length. Happy to say the install...

    Radiant and mini split questions

Thanks I'm really just deciding on if 11 loops of 1/2" is going to be more of a PITA than 6 loops of 7/8". At this point I'm leaning towards 1/2" From my calculations on loadcalc.net im at 68k btu heat loss and 32k btu cooling From pex universe load calc I'm 88k. That's if I'm doing it right...

    Radiant and mini split questions

Yes 7/8” would be 16” on center and 1/2” would be 12” on center. I had radiant in my previous shop. It was only 1/2” pex but 24” on center. It was built by the previous owner. It worked ok but it struggled when it got cold. It was Learning experience and I would like to get it right this time...

    Radiant and mini split questions

So after 9 months or so, we’ve closed on our property, got our easements and signed a builder on for our new shop that will be done in August! We’re building a 45x70x14 in Kansas City. R-19 walls, R-30 ceiling and the slab will be edge insulated and probably just 8ft perimeter of 2” foam. I...

    Is garage lust dead?

Very interesting thread. I’ll share my experience, I bought my first house at 22 in 2008. I shopped for months looking for something with a big garage or shop. I found one a decent way out in the country on 2.5 acres. It was a crappy old country home with an oddball layout. But the shop... 40x50...

    Chop saw recommendations

I have the porter cable from tractor supply as well. I’ve just never got it to cut very good. Anytime I have to make multiple cuts, the blade gets to hot and it just won’t cut anymore, what’s the best blade for mild steel? I was looking to upgrade to the evo380, I’d like to start some more in...

    Installing Shop Air Compressor System

I used 3/4” copper main line with 1/2” drops. Only reason I used copper was bc I had a friend who was a pipe fitter and gave me like 60’ of the 3/4” and split ring hangers for free. It was really nice and didn’t take me to long. I would go with copper again but I also would use one of the rapid...

    "Franzinator" build...IPS with no epoxy

I have a question about the build, As I'm about to attempt this and I like the idea of the double tapped bushing. From the other diagrams I've seen however, the internal elbow did not have pipe extending down. Any reason you did this? Or did I just misunderstand? I've read quite a bit about...

heating my shop with used motor oil

i have a couple questions. First off I have a 40x50 insulated shop. It has Pex tubing already ran through the slab. I would like to take advantage of this because I feel like it would be a more efficient and even heat through out the shop than just a furnace like this. I read where I can convert...
