    Painting treated wood?

Paint will require ongoing maintenance. If color is the reason you are considering painting use stain instead. Stain penetrates instead of coating. You can get custom stain color if needed, white is common as well as cedar or redwood. The suggestion to use a treated wood sealer is a good one.

School me on Table Saw Fences

That looks like a jet lock fence and should be able to find parts for it. My contractor saw has one and has been great once I dialed it in. As others have said many options depending on what you want to spend. Askwoodman videos show how to make your own if so inclined. He also is Real Cool Tools...

    IBM Snap-On

Gotta love a selectric. The same design of the typewriter was used for terminals and consoles on the 360 series of computers. It was a very intricate design with tilt and rotate tapes and interchangeable type balls. Servicing them in the computer realm was challenging.

    IBM Snap-On

The snap-on screwdrivers were made to IBM service specifications against snap-on's recommendation. They were jokingly called Snap off by Customer Engineers because they were brittle.

    Help ID craftsman tool tray

My wife delivered my birthday presents this morning in this Craftsman tool tray. I have never seen one like it and hope one of you can help ID the vintage. I suspect it was in a tool box not a chest. She found it in a vintage shop.

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Picked early 50's Geneva metal kitchen cabinets off of Craigslist. Included was a rare curved end base and inside corner base with lazy Susan. The toughest thing to find on these is the plastic handle insert and handle and he had all that too. I am just rolling and tipping the paint and...

    Everything Fiberglass Thread

If you are going to do this you will need to get familiar with grnder/ sanders. All repairs need to be glass to glass and you start with mat not cloth. In looking at the dock rash photo the cap rail looks really rough like it was hand done not out of a mold. Is the boat painted and were...

"Metal Sales" roof panels that HD sells

Plywood walls skim coated and painted semi gloss white. Put the mixture on the wall with a roller and troweled smooth. Everyone thinks it is drywall. I have used Lowe's metal roofing on two occasions with great results. You can special order to length and gauge plus 10% veterans...

Truss clips on inside or outside?

Inspector for my county in NC said they should be on the outside to prevent the roof rolling back. My contractor had put them on the inside so inspector wanted them doubled up (twice the number I had) until he learned I was sheathing the interior with plywood not drywall. He felt that...

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

Bought my 36k at Lowe's, used veterans discount free shipping to local store, Shop is 36x34 and it did great this summer and now switched to heat. As a side note the line set on the 36k is very heavy and I had a tough time getting a 90 degree bend in the copper section coming out of the unit.

MRCOOL DIY Mini Split, Seriously, I Think...

I built a box that sits out from the wall for the unit to mount to. That allowed the line set to run up inside the box to the attic. It is looped in one big loop and drops down through the soffit to the outside unit.
