Yes, I would go with thin wall for your use. I'm kind of a wheel guy and a good percentage of wheels will get marred by a thick socket, some will outright not fit.

I'm just a home user, and only had my flexzilla 50' for about a year, but it holds a memory when coiling if that is what you mean, it only wants to coil one specific way. It straightens out perfectly fine, but I gotta be conscious of how I coil it back up.
