I am a retired Industrial Arts/Technology Educational Instructor. I retired in 2012 after serving my students for 37 years. I do miss their smiling face every day. When I retired I started restoring a 1960s vintage dune buggy and needed a place with warmth to work on it so I arrange with a local garage to use a bay for the winter to do small items but found myself working full time for them within a few days. I work with one of my former students, believe it or not. I enjoy wood working and amateur radio as well.
The reason I joined the Garage Journal was to be able to ask some questions about Atlas 618 and Craftsman 100-21400 lathes. I purchased my Uncle's lathe from his estate and have completely restored it over the last winter. I am now trying to find accessories and tooling to bring it up in class a little.
