Anyone build a 2x72 belt grinder?

I realize this is from 6 years ago, but would you be willing to share the DXFs or other CAD files for these parts? I have built several Schmidt grinders now and just finished up a homemade CNC gantry for my plasma cutter. I have had something like this in mind for the tubes and this would save...

Any first hand experience with a NorthStar AC with quiet intake?

I think I will probably just roll on with the NorthStar 5 HP 60 gal. They have a $200 gift card with $1k purchase and I get 5% back there with my Northern Tool credit card. With Milwaukee and Stihl there and the store being 10 mins from my house, the $200 GC will get used for sure. Free...

Any first hand experience with a NorthStar AC with quiet intake?

Hmmm, now I see that the Polar Air 5 hp straight from Eaton's website is 20% off for July. Gets it down in the realm of the NorthStar price, but you get a pressurized lube oil system and continuous run option. They also put the pump on risers for better cooling. Even comes with an auto drain...

Any first hand experience with a NorthStar AC with quiet intake?

Have you been happy with this unit after a few months? I'm shopping around and these NorthStar units from Northern Tool really seem to be hard to beat on paper at this price point, but there isn't much first-hand experience online besides some YouTubers who are sponsored by Northern Tool. They...

Does anyone use an electric kitchen knife sharpener for pocket knives?

I am not a fan of any of the electric sharpeners or other sharpening gadgets. A file, a Pike double sided oil stone, and a 1000/6000 grit japanese water stone are all I've needed to sharpen pretty much anything. Forgot a leather strop, too.

Harbor Freight $10 angle grinder comparison

Their Hercules grinder is working well for me. Got two of them. Worth the $35 coupon price, imo.

HF going a bit high end with Bauer?

I got two of the HF Hercules branded 4.5" angle grinders and I'm satisfied with them for the price. Tear them down and you'll find that they're really no different, and in some ways they're better, than the equivalent DeWalt, Makita, etc. I do believe HF is making an effort to not be the...

    Usefulness of 110v TIG

Aluminum with DC and helium is more of a trick to get out of a bind. Not something you want to rely on frequently.

    Aluminum welding advice

    I'd get the AHP 200.

    Usefulness of 110v TIG

The AHP 160ST is under $250 and will do scratch start tig. Runs on 110 or 220V. Great little stick welder too. Just won't burn 6010.

    Show us your welding projects

I built my welding table with it on 220v and never once hit the duty cycle. Love that thing. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

    1/2 or 3/4 steel workbench/welding table???

Thanks! It works out pretty good. The cabinet on the left holds a couple hoods and my other welding PPE. The deep drawers hold abrasive discs and wire wheels. The shallow drawers hold my die grinders and carbide burrs, rolocs, stones, etc. Cabinet is made by Adrian Steel. It came out of...
