    Muriatic Acid Question

Acid etching is designed to soften the surface to allow for better penetration of coatings. Most home owners will never use their floor enough for it to matter. If you don't want to deal with acid and want the best prepped surface, you can go to your local equipment rental store and rent a floor...

Well done! I know how many hours that must have took. It's a lot of work, but worth it.

    Garage floor pitting, need advice!

If your prep work involves scoring it with a grinder, you will remove a lot of what might be ready to give leaving you with a solid floor to work with. There are a lot of patch materials to choose from. What you want to be careful with is that the patch material is compatible with the coating...

    Full Flake Wood Stairs

That's a creative use of floor coatings. I have a client right now that is having me do her counters in her kitchen with a metallic chip (ruby with a touch of black). It will have a copper look to it when done. Her floor will be done in black with a touch of ruby and random ruby squares cut in...

    RockSolid floor project

That's not nearly as bad as your post reads...not bad at all and a great ride sitting on it as well. I've got some stories with floors that would make you feel much better about yours. Seriously though, it does look good and with all things considered, it sounds like it could have been much...

Epoxy-Coat finished, but a little issue.

It's a wait and see situation. If there is enough material down and you can scrape it, I would remove until just a film was left and then re-apply.

Epoxy-Coat finished, but a little issue.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think you have a window of opportunity if the coating has not set to get more A&B and apply another coat while there is still a chemical reaction taking place. Or, if it is curing, just slowly, then let it fully cure; hit with a light sand paper and recoat...

    Best Floor Covering

There are a lot of great floors out there and each has a purpose. What you want out of a floor is the real question. I like our floor options and the designs that are possible. You don’t have to run a continual pattern over your floor. Match University colors, Sports Team Colors, Harley...

    Epoxy Prep

I'm a bit anit acid to begin with simply because it weakens the surface of concrete and is a major casue of a lot floor failures. It's my opinion that the best surface for any floor coating is a clean well scored floor. You should be able to rent a satellite grinder locally for a reasonable...

    Floor repair/epoxy quote.

The fix that is recommended seems fine. The foundation settling will likely to continue and while anyone can guarantee the floor coating for life, you will find that there is no guarantee on what it's applied to. In other words, if the expansion crack continues, the floor coating will separate...

    Diamond Grinding Questions before Epoxy-Coat

If available, attach a 40lb downforce weight to the grinder. That will give you the weight you need to properly score the floor. Remember, you are only scoring the surface, not really grinding. You should be able to get a dust shroud kit from the same place you rented the machine, but if you go...

    Floor Problems, continual

Did I read that you acid etched after sealing? Epoxy does not like the cold. 72 hours on a 50 degree floor is probably not long enough. The white to clear and back to white is the clear coat reacting to the epoxy that is still curing. At least, that would be my guess. Good thing diamond grinders...
