Thanks everyone for the comments. I had been regretting the whole thing but now being able to finish up some of the details I really like it.
I am living there on the weekends I am home; otherwise I have an apartment out of town for work.
Whew - it's been a minute since I've been up in here. Thanks everyone for the comments. So there really hasn't been a whole lot of progress as I'm out of town during the week and have been chasing snow on the weekends. But the trim's done and I built some pallet furniture which I still need...
Thanks everyone. It's nice to finally see it coming together. Still have quite a bit to finish off but can tackle that one project at a time.
I ended up just using a sealer on the concrete. I think it looks good and suits my needs.
The building is grounded so I'm not really sure why everything got zapped so bad. The insurance adjuster came out and did his thing and is leaving the claim "open-ended" in case of other items they find. Approx. $16k in damage at this point.
So I finally was able to get the floors in the living...
So its been a crazy couple months but this project has me to the point of giving up. One thing after another, the biggest hiccup was having it struck by lighting, and it's still not done!
Long story short - I have a new slab that was exposed to the elements and carelessly drywalled/textured/painted on. I've tried scrubbing with different cleaners and pressure washing is too hard to do with the drywall. Will a grinder with black pad clean this and allow me to seal or stain...
He definitely might! And yep to all three. The septic is big enough to accommodate the future house as well.
I only know of a couple but I'm sure there are plenty. I'm pretty excited to get into the space.
Thanks! I'll be checking out your thread.
Very nice! I only wish I could of done...
Not a whole lot picture worthy. There was a hiccup with the shower due to the drains not being where they were supposed to be. Hoping this week they will finish drywall/tin and maybe even the front porch but that feels overly optimistic at this point. My kitchen/bathroom cabinets came in and...
I usually head up to the UP but I'd rather be riding out West by you.
As far as the tin/trusses, I don't think there was anything else installed by since I only get out there weekly/biweekly I can't answer for sure.
