Sunex 3.5 Ton Floor Jack Review

Jack has been great. No issues what so ever. I really really like this jack. Like I said in the first post it lifts my trucks front end without breathing hard. Did a full brake job on the wife's Mazda couple months ago. Fit under the front end without any issues, even with it being lower to the...

    Retirement of good tools

Cool idea. My dad did a similar thing with my grandpa's hat after he passed. He wore that old denim hat everywhere, all my memories of him were that way. Got it hanging up in my garage.

What do you use your cordless Impact for?

I use makita 18v LiIon 1/4" impact drivers day in day out at work (construction site use). Use it for everything from zipping screws of all shapes and sizes in and out to tightening/loosening nuts and bolts. Got a Dewalt 18v 1/4" impact driver for personal use around the house and side jobs. Use...

    New job, dirty tools.

I too am an electrician, with a lot of underground under my belt. Keep 3 in 1 oil on you pliers, work out all the grime. Stretch the tape out and douse it with WD40 and wipe it good with a rag, it'll go back to normal. When i do a lot of underground work i tune up my tools like this daily.

Noooo...wife found out about tool rental!

I get the "you got another box!?" spiel. She thinks i spend too much on my hobbies, doesn't understand why I "need this" or "need that". I dont always, most times I just want it and i can afford it so I'm going to buy it. All i have to say is, "are the bills paid?", "Is there food in the...

    Made in USA only Wrenches

OP, I too try and buy mostly USA. There are occasions that doesn't happen though. As for the Craftsman stubbies, I just bought a 20pc set of SAE and metric (3/8"-7/8" and 10,12-19mm) set off Amazon for $99 and they are US made. Confirmed it before I bought them. I wanted just the metric set...

This board has already cost me a fair amount...

I'm in the same boat. Just ordered a set of Wright Wrightgrip metric wrenches (part #958), and have been looking into Williams socket sets to add/upgrade my Crafsman stuff. Got an SK set of SAE and metric 6 points (standard and deep of each) and was not very happy with the quality of the...

    Worst tool ever produced?

Beat me to it. Another vote for Robogrips. Bought them when they first came out and they bring the **** they don't grip worth the s#@t! Next on the list would be their open end ratchet wrenches.

    Comparing wrench prices.

I'm in a similar situation you are. I've been wanting to get a standard and metric wrench set and have been back and forth on all of those brands. Had it narrowed down to Williams and Wright, until I found a 9/16 wright grip in my work toolbox. I will be getting the Wrights. Don't know if...

Northern Tool Dry Cut Saw - Anyone using?

I had that saw for 2 1/2 years. Used it moderately, cutting 1/8th wall tubing mainly sometimes stuff up to 1/4" thick. Saw worked great, never any issues. Had a Milwaukee as well and id say they performed pretty equal. Only sold it because i have no need for it any longer. For $270 shipped and...

    hole saw problems

What i do at work is wrap a piece of solid #12 copper wire arount the arbor right below the threads, trim it up to where the ends meet. Theres usually a little groove there that the wire fits like it was meant to be there. It makes changing hole saws alot easier, the hole saw doesn't seize up on...

    Armstrong 3/8" ratchet repair kit

Should be the same as a Craftsman. I have an Armstrong torque wrench that was acting up. I took apart a Craftsman ratchet I never use, swapped the parts over to the Armstrong and it's good as new. You could do that, take the craftsman back to sears have them give you a free rebuild kit for the...

    Milwaukee 6190-20 cold-cut saw

I had one, bought it mainly to chop 1.75"x.125"wall DOM tubing (quick cuts before notching the end). I ended up using it for all kinds of things. Think the thickest stuff I cut with it was 4"x4"x.375" wall square tube, it handled it but I went extra slow and easy. For thinner wall stuff its...
