well, it looks like its a leak in the slab. He told me today that the noise is getting louder, and then his wife found a warm spot on the floor near the washer, which is about 6ft from the water heater. No traces of water yet though.

not on this one. just the needle that reads in gal. with hash marks every 1/10th of a gal.

That is exactly what he is worried about. he had 1 line fixed in the slab 2yrs ago. plumber charged him $2200:shocking: He was only there 4 hrs!

I'm thinking about borrowing my wife's stethoscope to see if I can pinpoint the noise a little better, as I don't know what else to check.

good idea, but no it doesn't. no radiant heat in the floor either. Its just your standard late 70's built middle class home you would find in Texas.

speaker wire, air lines, phone line, cat5 cable, alarm wires, coax for TV... all depends on how fancy your going to get.

I have a strange one I can't seem to wrap my head around and need some ideas. So a friend of mine calls and asks me to come help him find out why his sink is whistling. When I get there it sounds like there is water running through the water lines under the sink, but there is no water running...

being this place is out in the country; if it were me i would put some type of flood light under the eave at the peak on all 4 sides of the house. You will appreciate them if some thing goes bump in the night, party cleanup runs late, or you just happen to be working one something out there...

seriously? $2 a sheet? What store was this at? I would have bought them out, sold what I didn't need on craigslist @ $4 a sheet' made some $$ and gave someone a smokin' deal too!!
