Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

No, the black cart has "manual" hinges, like the Snap On's already. The Red 5dr. cart has the gas shock assembly, so when they go bad(it won't take long), I changed mine for the "manual" set

    The Green Snap-on Tools ****

All you with the ratchets with the hard green handle, I hate you lol. I was finally going to buy one off the Snappy truck and he said the hard colored handles were promos only and they were kinda rare lol.

Thanks for the heads up man, I was thinking about that when I bought it, but figured if the end cap was to break, I'd just buy the metal one. I really only would use it for my tundra and my IS250, which already has a metal end cap

Got this in last week and got to use it on my cousins Lexus IS250 oil change. It's a toyota canister style oil filter "wrench" / cup. Not your tradition oil filter cup/tool. Made in the U.S.A. by ASR.

Socket holders/racks... Westling Mach. Vs. Plastic alternatives

If your looking for a tray, make your own! I use the the HF rails. They feel kinda cheap, like I feel like they would break if they weren't bolted down. But if its in tray form, they do the job of holding the sockets in place. The snap on truck wanted $90+ for a Blue Point tray with only 4 or...

    Source for Snap On handles

Sorry to thread jack, but Anyone know if the black/red comfort handles are interchangeable with the hard colored handles?

    Preferred hand cleaner

http://www.petrospecsinc.com/#/grimebuster This is the stuff we use now at work. We used to use MOC hand cleaner, I don't know the name, but its orange, citrus based and that worked better IMO

I'll tell you what I told the cop " Officer, I'm just test driving the vehicle for a concern the customer had. It's not my car" "Hands him company insurance card and repair order" lol it's not mine I swear, I used it in a car and the customer left his lighter in the shop :lol_hitti

Haha, its a nice set! I like it because the new version with those handles(not the newer round handle), they thinned out the shafts a little bit and they flexed too much for my liking. That and cause I LOVE the green too lol.

Just a copy and paste from the HF cart mod's thread. :p Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on here as I was busy with work. Here's the semi finished pics. I still have the drawers to do, but I might just end up wrapping the faces with some vinyl Here are some drawer pics My old...

Found this set hiding in the used tools box. I was gonna just buy the 2nd one down, but then saw the rest after digging to the bottom. $100 out the door of the tool truck

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

That's probably what I'll end up doing with my drawer faces now, since its cheaper than buying the rustoleum bed liner

Looks just like my co-workers Mac impact. But I agree too, I'd rather buy Snap-On than the others lol. 1, cause they seem to be one of the few USA made still, 2, I have too many Matco now lol, and 3, I'm a brand kinda man . But in some defense for Matco, You can't beat their student discounts...

Yeah, it would be price. I like the texture of rustoleum, but it doesn't go far. Since it's "thickish" only maybe half the can is the liner the rest is the solvent/propellant. I didn't even do the drawer faces or the handle since I was thinking of using a different brand. That and because the...
