I was here when they did it - the guy definitely used a power trowel...I didn't take pics but he buzzed around for hours...it's not "terrible" but I can see the imperfections with plain eye and they will probably drive me off the wall if I don't fix them now before I seal and bring everything...

4500 and 8510 is what I was going after as well...so "green" concrete, wait 1 month and then 4500 and 8510 after... should I get this thing sanded down before I apply the sealer or leave it as is? what grit? when I apply the 4500 should I just roll it or "polish" it with a burnisher? what did...

ah that seems easy enough... we're a couple of days into the curing process - looks good with the exception of white spots that have formed up on top...the installer says I have to wait for the complete curing process in the meantime - I was originally going to just seal it up but now that...

quick update - I found a different contractor that had no problem using a vapour barrier...the old slab was removed and I got two footings done for a potential lift, used vapour barrier, 2" insulation, metal mesh and added fiber to the mix...the concrete was poured yesterday and I'm pretty happy...

thanks for the feedback...I was going to put a deposit down today but I think i`ll wait a bit and talk to the other contractors...the vapor barrier was a pretty mandatory requirement for me as we have a lot of water in the ground around me and I wanted a nice dry slab...the contractor is very...

so word for word - the bleed water will weaken the surface and they will not provide warranty on scaling if I insist on the vapor barrier...he`ll send me the info on the sealer and the costing of the insulation so I can decide whether I want to do it myself...apparently if I apply the sealer...

thanks for the feedback guys - yes I am leaning towards doing the sealer myself with a penetrating sealer rather than a topical one...this is a working garage and I don't care about looks very much but want to protect the concrete for years to come...this will see regular oil, coolant, brake...
