What yo think of those new no can recessed lights?

I'm looking at putting in 5 of these in the soffits to light up the path that leads down to the basement entrance where my in-laws live. I'm not sure if they are going to light up the path like I want though but I don't want a typical "security" style light. The lithonia wf4 is what I'm...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT ZMotorsports Home and 50x60x16 Shop/RV Garage

I'm a little surprised to see the open gates on the RV pad. What led you to go that route over privacy fencing? Looks great Mike. Are you planning to start a new thread for shop projects coming out of this shop or will you keep using the existing thread?

I think I remember you mentioning earlier that you had planned to installed security cameras. Did you pre-run wires for that in the shop or are they going in somewhere else? Do you have many bugs up your way? I'm out by RMR, about a mile south, and get tons of mosquitoes. I think we'd use out...

One and the same. I had remembered that you mentioned your move and while bored yesterday came looking here to see if you had posted a new thread and was able to find this jackpot. Not sure if you saw the thread over on RME but there has been a decent discussion over there about this...

Hey Mike. Great thread and its an awesome new setup you've got there. I had a couple questions about your sprinkler system that seems to be going in soon. What type of heads did you decide on? Rotors or popups? I did rotors and popups and wish I would have only done popups since with a...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT A Garage Rehabbed

Its not painted but it is clamped down to my bench, and I used it twice in two days. Once to hold a 2x4 I was cutting to "fix" a closet accordion door, and second to hold a dowel I sawed to size for a hanging spool holder. Its nice to have a vise that works and opens large enough to hold a...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

My first proper vise arrived today, I bought it off CL out of Wyoming. Its an Athol 614 thats seen some use over the years. I need to figure out how to clean it up and get it some use. I'm guessing its a post 1930 build based on what I read on mivise.com but I don't know for sure.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I just bought a 4" jawed Athol off CL and it should be arriving tomorrow. Its my first vise and since I bought it via online pictures don't know what to expect. I want to mount it on a bench and at some point would like to build a beast welding bench but now I have one made from 2x4s and MDF...

    Welding Setting question

From what I have read being a noob is that straight CO2 burns hotter than the CO2/Argon mix. Depending on what you are going to weld this could cause issues with blowing holes in your metal and/or warping. You could learn to adjust but may be something to play with when you have more...
