    The VISES of Garage Journal

Picked the MAC vise up off Craigslist for $50, and the seller had two other vises he'd part with for $10 together. I only had $58 total on me and he accepted for all 3. It's nice to have spares! A fellow member here searched my area and picked it out off Craigslist, which was very cool of him to do.

    Craftsman 5240

Ended up getting 3 vices for $58:) He had a small red made in Japan one that said "Home 204" on it and a small USA made vice of some sorts and wanted $10 for both. I had $58 in my wallet, offered change in my car lol but he said no, $58 is good. I'll post up pics in the vices of garage journal...

The 5240 Craftsman sold earlier, so that's no longer an option.

    Craftsman 5240

It's about a 30-40 min drive north. If you guys think this is a good deal and quality vise, then I'll inquire about it and make the drive if still available.

    Bubble flaring tool recommendations

Yes, I picked an Imperial Eastman 93-fb earlier today. Figured for $20 and being USA made, why not. It's a lot nicer than the Chinese **** the auto parts stores have. I'm going to practice with it on some spare steel line I have. I'll be using nickel copper line though for the job. It arrives...

    Bubble flaring tool recommendations

I need a bubble flaring tool and don't want to order a $20 kit because of the potential for **** quality. I've seen the Master Cool hydraulic tools recommended as well as the Eastman ones (the $50 and the $200 tools), and those are nice but the $50 kit is double flare only and the $200 one can...

    help picking a compressor

Update. Sorry for the novel: The compressor didn't initially have a leak as I thought. The pressure held steady at 140psi for several days so I think it had something to do with the air inside the tank cooling and contracting, which led to less pressure. I did create a leak in one of the...

    Questions about compressor accessories

I'm annoyed as hell right now. My Milton fittings and hose arrived today so I was all set to install them and the ball valve I bought form Home Depot. In the process, I ended up causing an air leak right below the pressure switch on this fitting that connects the pressure switch to the tank...

    help picking a compressor

So it was either bump this thread, my accessory thread, or the thread on circuit breakers over in the electrical section. This one would probably be best. I ended up going with the 29 gallon HF model. It made it to the garage unscathed from shipping damage. Today I got the chance to break it...

Correct breaker size for 15A compressor?

I'm not sure if the extension cord was mentioned in this thread but it was in another thread I had posted about seeking help when choosing a compressor. My exact setup is a 20A breaker, with a 20A receptacle (with 12 gauge wire) attached to the fuse box in the basement, with a 50' 12 gauge...

Correct breaker size for 15A compressor?

My mom isn't going to touch the outlet or extension cord I have hooked up. It's only her there and no one else to worry about.
