Outside of testing the main lines at the panel, how I can I find the voltage reading? Sticking the probes in the same outlet nets me a variable reading between 120-123 on one leg? Will sticking a probe into a separate outlet tell me the voltage across both legs?

Depending on your line, it would depend on what you need. I reduced my 3/4 fittings to 1/2 inch and then used Milton 1/2 fitting to feed my air manifold. I also have a spare 1/2 whip line with 1/2 Milton g style fittings. I am doing my process backwards. I am using a small air compressor to...

1/2 inch Milton G style connectors are good for 99 scfm. 1/2 line with fittings should be fine for your compressor.
