The other thing that you need to consider is your slab. Let's say that a lift with a car on it weighs 6,000lbs. If you look at the plate at the bottom of each of the posts, they are typically about 12" square... or 144 sq in. Multiply that by 4 and you're at 576 sq in supporting all of that...
Have you thought about solar? When I built my "forever" home and shop (42 x 85 ) the primary factor of the shop orientation was the solar panels. You might also consider a gabled roof with a modest pitch to improve solar performance. The Feds will still give you a 30% refund on your...
I too remember those days. 10 years ago I remember buying some nice 30" Gladiator wall cabinets on sale from Sears for $99. I probably bought about 15 of those. Sadly, when we sold the home the buyer was REALLY keen on me leaving those cabinets... so I did. Ugh!
Anyway, we finished build...
While I agree that Home Depot often inflates MSRP to perhaps make sales look more worthwhile, you are really mistaken when you say that you can build anything close to this set-up from Gladiator or any other manufacturer. I think you are out of touch with what prices really are. Why don't you...
Yeah, unfortunately now back to $3199 and out of stock. I managed to get (2) sets for $1299 each. They were delivered yesterday - 4 boxes each weighing 435 lbs. I have only had the time to open one box so far. Cabinets are packed VERY well. ALL of the boxes appear to be in perfect condition...
I know, I know, this is only the zillionth garage cabinet thread. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone on the fence - as I was. I was strongly leaning toward the New Age Pro stuff which is arguably better made but hands down a better probability for un-damaged delivery from everything I...
If that were the case, the op wouldn't have posted. We had the same issue. The ID of the MaxLine is such that it would prefer to push the o-ring out of position before slipping on OVER the o-ring. As I said in BOTH of my posts, I didn't expand the MaxLine as if it was PEX, rather I gave it a...
Correct. However, it is imperative to have the Max Line fit over the o-rings without pushing them out of their groove. As I said, we *barely* expanded the line - so that it would just fit over the o-rings but still allow the ring and collar to slide into place and thread on.
op - I hear you completely and have had similar concerns/issues. The connections are NOT confidence inspiring. Fortunately for us, we have just completed construction of the home and shop and we used PEX-A throughout both structures for water lines. As such, I have a Milwaukee PEX expander...
I am actively getting quotes for an all-paver driveway as well. About 7,000 sq-ft. I had contemplated all concrete but I think the pavers will look SO much nicer. We already have ~8" of compacted road base acting as a temporary driveway and getting more and more compacted as we drive on it...
I too suspect a broken spring. With the door opener not engaged, the springs should be adjusted so that the door is about perfectly balanced when 1/2 way open - neither wanting to close or open, but can be easily nudged to move either way.
Regarding the springs, a quick rule of thumb is that...
Historically, the Bend Paks all shipped with slotted washers to use as shims as needed. It is IMPERATIVE that the posts are plumb. If they're not, get the installers back out to resolve.
Gents,
I have had the solution below on my BendPak since 2006 (14 years!) and it has worked flawlessly. I only fire up my whole shop air once a month or so, as needed, but I'm never without air for the 4-post BendPak. System is simple - just make use of a 1-way valve from Mcmaster and the...
