When mine was plugged in, everything froze inside. So now I just unplug it when it starts getting cold and it works out just fine.

How high are you guys mounting these? My ceiling is just over 10 feet high, so I'm concerned that they won't be able to do the job from that height. I was thinking of mounting a couple over the cars.

What does everyone use for overhead storage? By that I don't mean a loft, but some sort of overhead shelving type system. I know there is a co. (Hyloft I think) that makes one sold at Lowes, but did anyone make theirs? Experience with a Hyloft system? Thanks!

I think you said yours is 1.5" thick, but I only see 2" or 1" R-values. I measured my door and it will accept something as thick as 1.5"...do you remember what value yours is?

I have a Direct Lift also from Greg Smith and have been very happy with it (2 years now). My Dad has a BYB (for approx. 7 years) and has been happy with it as well.
