You could. But the 1/2 impact is a lot larger than the 18volt 1/4 inch impact. So if you put a 3/8 anvil in it you have a lot more power out of it and you don’t have to have the 1/4 hex to 3/8 adapter and it’s smaller. And I’m also doing it to my 12volt bc I find that I use that more than I do...
Ridgid doesn’t make one. And I already have a full lineup of tools from Ridgid along with batteries, and everything I have has a life time warranty. No other company has that.
I don’t see how it would void the warranty. I modded the 18volt impact also. I have the anvil I took out, if anything ever happened I would just put that part back in the drill before taking it into service.
I tried the 42-06-0310 on my 12volt Ridgid impact. The hole will need to be drills just a very little bit and a spacer to go around the new anvil will have to be made for the front bearing where it slides in, there is a tiny gap. I will get measurements when I get a battery for my caliper...
I am about to do this to my impact. I’ve been searching for this for a long time. Thank you!
I also have a 12volt rigid 1/4 hex impact. R82230. I would love to put a 1/4 or 3/8 square on that. I was looking at the Milwaukee 12volt impact parts but wasn’t sure. Anyone have any idea which might work?
