Thinking about a VCT floor- Questions.

VCT works well if you're not planning Heavy industrial use on it. Light home mechanics works well, but you do always have to have the tile in the back of your head when approaching a project, and how to protect the tile if Necessary. Keeping alot of wax layers is key...just like grocery stores...

For the front edge is some aluminum strips from Lowe's as well. two 8 foot long strips, 1/8" thick just like tile x 3/4" wide. Glued it down with "Super Liquid Nails" glue. (yet to see if it'll make it through the seasons) but tight so far.

    Vct Floor Finally

No fluids between tiles, probably just shadowing in PICS. Haven't done any work in garage yet, or spilled anything. Still need to find a wax I feel confident withto lie down before heavy work... Fluids are not a problem with the tiles if you use about 5 layers of a good commercial wax. It...

    I ordered the tiles through Lowe's using Armstrong 12" x 12" 1/8" thick. I think they ran about 78 cents a tile.

    VCT Tile is discolored

VCT Tile is solid all the way through so you can't ruin patterns etc., by scrubbing off surface layer (according to Armstrong). Using an abrasive buffing pad is about the only way to "start fresh" again with new tile finish, since untreated tile is slightly absorbant it would require scratching...

VCT tile top... (had extra from floor) ...course the only way this top will take abuse is with some Epoxy Resin coatings over the tiles.:bounce:

    Vct Floor Finally

The first thing I needed to do in prep. for floor was fill in the expansion joint running down the middle of my garage. I mixed up some Quikrete, a little extra thin so smoothing it to surface level would be easier. Used a 4 inch wide spackle knife to make sure it was level with slab, didn’t...

Should not have a purple tint to it. There are a few shades of grey and some white/light grey specs as well. Are your samples Armstrong Imperials?

    Saying hello to All.

Stumbled onto this Site searching for some garage toys awhile back. I am in the Great NorthWest, Vancouver Washington. Started in the winter months earlier this year doing some remod on my garage. Standard 19 x 20 two car. Had a busted water pipe destroy a wall of sheetrock, and I just kept...

    Vct Floor Finally

The matching VCT Workbench maybe a little carried away? Built the workbench, and had not committed to a finished top on the 5/8" particle work surface. Was thinking a thin piece of hardwood at time of building, to cover absorbent particle. Light bulb clicked on in mind when top measured...
