Considering spray foam insulation in attick

Thanks all. I have no fear of the integrity of the roof as I personally installed it and have faith in my work. My fear is the not being able to see a leak and small issue becoming much larger by the time its noticed. Open cell vs closed cell seems to be a big debate also. I think I will...

Considering spray foam insulation in attick

Thanks. Just want to be sure it couldn't cause accelerated moisture problems that may not exist now. Anyone with experience in the north? We can get a lot of standing snow on the 4-1 slope roofs here in ohio.

Considering spray foam insulation in attick

I have spent a bit of time researching on this site and wanted to post my own thread to get some opinions from those who may be wise to the subject. My older pole barn is a wood framed and sided 26 x 32 x 12 with OSB roof decking and asphalt shingle roof. I did a complete tear off and put down...

    Gas line pressure testing

HoosierBuddy, Yes my thoughts exactly! Cant believe they made me second guess myself into chasing a nonexistent leak. Month wasted waiting on ground to thaw so I could reexpose the connections. Derek

    Gas line pressure testing

Well todays technician at least acknowledged my 17 days of 9psi and did his own 10 minute test, concluding it is holding. He installed the meter, set pressure, and even helped me purge the lines up to my new shop heater. I only wish the first visit went this smoothly. Thanks to all who shared...

    Gas line pressure testing

Thank you all. In the first several days it dropped to 9psi and stabilized. Then with increase in temperature came up to 9.5 and is fluctuating between 9-9.5 with temp changes. Gas company returns tomorrow to check again.

    Gas line pressure testing

Thanks gmcgeo, I am hoping the return trip goes smoother and they install a meter. I just wanted the opinions of others as to whether my test results could possibly invalid. Derek

    Gas line pressure testing

The gas company adapted their manometer and hand bulb pump to the meter connecting flange. They tested a couple times on a very cold day and stated it failed. I questioned their connections and the tech was bothered by that so I let it go and told him I would check into it further. They would...

    Gas line pressure testing

It is capped at both ends. Not pressurizing against any appliances, valves, or meter. Thanks Derek

    Gas line pressure testing

The gas company recently ran natural gas line up my road and I opted to tie in. They ran the meter to the rear corner of my house and I installed a radiant heater in my pole barn as the first consumer to get the meter installed. Ran 1" PE with risers and Homeflex underground compression style...
