    HDPE or OSB bench top?

I used the same thing for my 4x8 general workbench and my miter saw station. I used a 3/4 sheet of plywood under it and it has held up very well for the last 5 years or so. Super easy to clean and the white surface really helps to brighten up the shop. The surfaces are still in really good...

    HDPE or OSB bench top?

This is a really old thread I know, but I was wondering if you ever made your bench with the HDPE top and how you liked it? How did it hold up to light/med use?

Best way to pass a 4" PVC pipe through exterior wall?

Thanks everyone. We drilled three locator holes from the inside out and then used a 3.5" hole saw to cut the inside and then outside. My father-in-law ended up making some flange/plates out of wood to help stabilize everything. It ended up looking pretty good and was a snug fit. Now I just...

Best way to pass a 4" PVC pipe through exterior wall?

I have a need to pass a 4" PVC pipe from a room in the house to outside. The interior wall is drywall and the exterior is vinyl siding. I would like to mount some type of flange or something on both sides of the wall to help stabilize the pipe and to give me something to seal/caulk. Any ideas...

Looking for a good SAE brand

Sorry about that! The forums I admin auto resize all the pics, so thought this one would too. I've now made them a much better size to view. I was more concerned that the chrome plating would start to come off since it appears there was an issue when applying it. And like you say, for the...

Looking for a good SAE brand

So I finally picked up a set of SK wrenches (set 86255) and I'm kind of disappointed with the quality control... Several of the wrenches have burn marks on the chrome plating... And the box end on the 5/8 wrench was not even cut... Needless to say, for my first time buying these...

Looking for a good SAE brand

I also just saw that SK does have some ratcheting wrenches. They are just not in their "complete catalog" yet.

Looking for a good SAE brand

So my test wrenches arrived... GearWrench 3/4 Ratcheting Wrench This one is going to find a place in my tool box mainly for the fact that it's a ratcheting wrench and those do come in handy. The rest of the wrench fine as well, just nothing special about it. I think I'll go with GearWrench to...

Looking for a good SAE brand

Just wanted to do an apples to apples. I routinely need two 3/4" wrenches when working on the Jeep, so I'll really only have one extra one... well, besides the cheapo ones I already have.

Looking for a good SAE brand

I just ordered an Armstrong, SK and GearWrench (for comparison) all in 3/4" to see how I like the feel of them. I'll pickup one or two of the other ones a little later to compare as well. I figured I should find one that is comfortable before going off and buying a set.

Thanks for that. I have looked at the tool truck equivalent thread... but it's been some time ago. That is actually what made me try the Armstrong and BAHCO ratchets.

Looking for a good SAE brand

So, what decent brands offer satin or non-chrome tools? Also, searching for K-D took me to the GearWrench site that also had a big link up top to Armstrong tools.... are those all made by the same company??

Looking for a good SAE brand

I would if their SAE wrenches went up to the sizes I need. In metric they stop at 19 and in SAE they stop at 3/4. That's my biggest complaint about Wera... that and no deep sockets :( Those are interesting, but I think I'll pass. Something more along the satin finish Wera has is more what...

Looking for a good SAE brand

I should probably add that my OCD has a hard time having mix and match tools. I'm okay having one brand for metric and another for SEA, but I'd really prefer not to mix inside of those. lol
