Harbor Freight 20T press won't press

Well, I bled the jack today. I then topped off the fluid again to replace the space formerly taken by air bubbles, but I don't think I added much at all. When I tested the press, I was able to crush a 2x4 at the full extension of the arbor. It never would have done that before, so I think...

Harbor Freight 20T press won't press

As I said in my initial post, it's not low on fluid. I've checked that several times, and it's full. I'll try bleeding it, though.

Harbor Freight 20T press won't press

I have a Harbor Freight 20-ton hydraulic press that I bought used. It seems that the press arbor should have about 5.5" of travel, total, right? My press seems to exert plenty of force for the first 2", but after it hits a certain point, it just suddenly stops pushing. After that, I can pump...

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

I took my staple gun to Ace today to try on the Craftsman 13" bag. Alas, it's not tall enough to fit my staple gun. I think I'll bite the bullet & get the Ridgid rectangular case. Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone.

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

The equivalent Husky bag costs $20. It fits my staple gun just fine (I tried it out in person), but all these general purpose bags take up a bigger footprint on the shelf than the Ridgid bag would. And, despite being heavy material, the GP bags are still not at all padded.

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

You're not wrong about any of those points. My Milwaukee hard case from my drill/driver had a space to store the charger, and that gap is where I usually put my ziplock bag of bits when I'm traveling. That's why I love the Ridgid nailer case so much. My finish nailer's case is rectangular and...

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

Nice! I had been leaning toward getting one of those rectangular Ridgid nailer bags & painting the orange parts red, mostly because it's a better shape and will pack away more easily alongside my other tools. However, that would cost $31 with shipping. This bag is hard to pass up for only $6...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

I have a 30x40x14' shop that I lit with 34 four-foot LED shop lights. I basically put one light per 5x5' square on the ceiling, and I absolutely love it. The even pattern produces almost no shadows anywhere. You could follow the same pattern by putting one light per 10x10' square. It would...

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

I chatted with Home Depot's online customer service today, and the pointed me to the manufacturer's web site where you can order any of their replacement parts, including the spiffy bags for all their Ridgid nail guns. Part number 903209082 seems to belong to their pneumatic finish nailer. The...

Need a bag for a Milwaukee crown stapler

I recently bought a Milwaukee 2749 narrow crown stapler to add to my existing collection of M18 cordless tools. That stapler doesn't come with any sort of case, and I'd like to get one for it. I'm not even picky about the color (spray paint FTW). Can anybody recommend a case (preferably...

    Shop Floor Advice

nova3930, how has the PS100 worked out for you? Has it gotten any real world testing in your shop yet? I'm looking for a sealer that can protect my 30x40 interior, heated, machine-troweled slab against water, salt, oil, automotive chemicals, physical abuse, and hot welding slag. Those last...

Hammered paint in a custom color

I guess I was hoping to do this cheaply by buying just one or two cans of spray paint ($8 each) rather than buying several brushable cans ($26 each) and mixing them up myself. This bench vise isn't very big or very valuable.

Hammered paint in a custom color

No, "Deep Green" is what they call their current color, which is actually a really close match to the green that Grizzly used to use on all their tools. It's far lighter and bluer than I'm looking for. Thanks, though.

Hammered paint in a custom color

I'm restoring an old bench vise, and I'd like to paint it in Rust-oleum's hammered paint. Alas, they don't make a hammered paint in the color I want (dark, gray-ish green). The closest they come is a bright, teal-tinted, Grizzly green. I see that they do make a clear, hammered top coat...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

I do a lot of automotive work, too. My eyes aren't getting any younger, and I really love the quantity & quality of light in my shop. I do still drag out a work light when I'm working between the car & wall, under the hood, or under the car, but otherwise the light is great. When doing...
