    That is a very generous offer and I appreciate it. However, I did measure with calipers and the spindle is 1 inch dead on -- 1.000. Bummer.

    Thanks for the help! I believe the 101043 is, in fact, a 5-inch machinist vise, so that would make sense. I will grab a couple pictures tonight, and measure the main screw diameter. There is no date stamp on the slide key, however, so I don't know the year. It is a Schiller Park, IL vise...
