Ayup, bit of a left field pickup yesterday whilst in Scotland on business. Mains powered HOOVER hand held vacuum cleaner from the 80's. Thinking of converting it into a "mini" cyclone dust extractor, to hang off my workmate when working away from the shop.

Introducing my Gumtree buy for the evening. £10 for a "no name" PRC cross slide drill vice. A quick Google shows pretty much the same vice at ~£30 new. £10 feels fair She'll be cleaned up (WD40+wire wool) and a wooden bracket made to sit her into the drill base before putting her into use.

Damon18, Those "auto kit" Spanners look nice. I don't think I've seen combination Spanners where the ring is incorporated INTO the handle, rather than being a flared out ring at the end

Ken, I merely meant as an Englishman who won't see one again in the wild, even such a rare occurance can't pry open my wallet that far! Shiftless, in fairness I know the market has ballooned for these but I'm just not able to make the "man maths" stretch that far.

Yes Sir! Great to be able to see a Dreadnought battleship in person. Biggest we have in the UK is HMS Belfast, which is a Town-class light cruiser. Have to admit USS Texas looks in pretty rough state, but having read up on her online I see why and some of the plans to save her. Anyway...
