1974 Quincy QR25 model 350 LS ROC 15 is going back to work... Hopefully.

Cool compressor, you are having fun! Gasket material, a suggestion: 15 years ago I replaced quite complex set of head gaskets in two cyl air compressor. Approx 600L/min. I simply tossed away the old gaskets and used high temp RTV instead after carefully cleaning the seats. It's still running...

Welding issues now with older eyes

I was about to give up welding except under perfect circumstances. About a month ago I got ESAB Savage welding helmet. It shares the lens with the older Sentinel model that's the top of the line from ESAB. Suddenly I can weld with my multi-focal glasses and pretty much see what I am doing...

3 phase air compressor was run backwards for 2 months

The type number points to Chicago Pneumatic CA1 https://www.portlandcompressor.com/store/two-stage-ca1-bare-replacement-pump-for-chicago-pneumatic-napa-and-belair-reciprocating-compressors Here is user manual for what looks like the same compressor, it even has part diagram...

Finally broke my trusty Harbor Freight breaker bar

The flex in this case and so many others is calculated (dictated) by young's modulus for steel. It has only small variation for different blends of steel, you won't notice the difference, it's even difficult to measure. So - with same dimensions, one should expect bottom and top brands to flex...

Skil Worm Drive Pops and Shoots Flames

Could be shorted armature. One of the windings shorted, lost efficiency.. Difficult to measure.

    E torx sockets set.

As for torx bits .. Koken has very attractive solutions in the bigger sizes. I really don't know but their torx bits could be close to the best you can get. However perhaps warranty is the king here - I don't have any so I haven't considered it.

    E torx sockets set.

I have used Toptul e-torx sockets with good results. My Aircat 1250K is on first name basis with some of them. If or when they fail me it will be the least of my problems - old age, grey hair, dementia, bed wetting, will be much more likely. They seem indestrutcable. Cost effective in the...

    Gedore or Stahlwille Spanner’s? No.7 and 1b or 13 and 14 series

It's blasphemy to mention Toptul in this thread. Considering how good their wrenches are it's almost a crime! :ninja:

    Gedore or Stahlwille Spanner’s? No.7 and 1b or 13 and 14 series

Since you already have Hazet 600n I'd say look at Stahlwille 13 for a second set. They are shorter and offer better access in tight spaces. Stahlwille 14 is similar in length as the 600n it's open end has less material (smaller) and isn't nearly as strong. The box end on S.14 has offset if that...

    Things Snap-On Tool owners say.

Few years ago I spent 2000 hours per year using my toolbox. But only 2-300 hours per year in my car. As it happens, at the time I had probably 10 times more money in my toolbox than in my car. I still have the box and all the tools in good shape, but the car is long gone. I could have spent...

This fershlugginer drill index box is vexing me.

Never touched one of these, is the drill tray supposed to tilt out of the box?

3/4" Breaker Bars, is Snapon King?

I'd say it's time for 1" drive. I wouldn't bother with adapters down to 3/4", they will fail. Don't need expensive brand sockets in 1" drive. Ps In some cases it's just practical to make special tool. Like welding a piece of flat bar to a socket, ready to accept pipe extension.

What tools are required for LS3 "road bag"? Metric or standard?

Cool project. Does GM have any price list online so I can figure out approximate cost for such engine package?
