Both vises have re-made custom jaws as close as I could get them from measuring the originals. The 604-1/2 I rescued had the jaws welded on by some butcher in the past. If you need a sketch of them, just private message me and I'll email the jaw sketch to you.
Good luck:thumbup:

Hello again everyone!! :hellobye:
Just had the time to complete the assembly of my restored Sawyer Tool Company, dual swivel, "Nutyp" Model 604-1/2 vice.
Assembly photos are attached. It's nice to have at least 2 models of such rare vises. I'm not too sure if a Model 605 was ever...
Hello Dave!
I painted the slide on my 603-1/2 (Pictured above in earlier post) Must be lucky - no noticeable scratches or binding on this particular design. The internal nut and slide seem to hold it centered within a machined slot on the underside of the slide. Thanks for your concern.

Thanks for the confirmation/up-date on my vise. Has anyone in the forum ever come across the other sizes of the Nutyp Vise such as the 604-1/2 or a 605?:dunno: I would love to find these too!!

I noticed your collection picture too. That's a lot of iron there! Where did you find your Nutyp Vise? Looks like she's all there too. A little TLC and she'll look like new again.
Thanks Gentlemen,
See attached photos of my completed Sawyer 603-1/2 restoration.
Starting to find out more details as I investigate. I'll post the information as I come across it.
I was employed in a machine shop about 20 years ago. An old machinist asked if I wanted to fix it up for my own...
Hello all, I've been a casual member and used this site to look up some things and learned a great deal. However, I'm stumped! I picked up a Sawyer Tool Co. Vise #603 1/2 and I cannot find much information about it. It is a combination "NuTyp" unit. The base swivels and locks in any desired...
