i installed a Thern Davit crane for a rooftop hoist and it has worked perfectly for years. The customer support was outstanding before and after the sale as well. I’ll buy another when needed. My only issue is my patience level and the line speed aren’t on the same channel for a 15’ lift 😉
Thanks for all of the info - I've decided I'm going to run it on single phase. I don't want to mess with firing up the rotary motor every time I want a little air..... Still on the fence if I'll go 5hp or 7.5 - will see what comes along for a deal on a motor :)
thanks guys - I'm aware I can make it work fine with proper converter - more wondering if anyone has experience swapping out motors on a similar machine with either a 5HP or 7.5HP single phase motor. Manufacturer offers this same compressor pump with a 5HP motor, so as mentioned may just have...
Just bought a Champion VR7F-8 Compressor - two stage 80 gallon with a 3 phase 7.5HP motor. The rotary converter I have for my shear is a 7.5HP Phase-A-Matic which isn't big enough. I'm leaning towards just replacing the compressor motor as I will use the compressor much more often than I...
thanks for all the suggestions guys.... I get that "it's a welding bench!" - but I like to try to start with something as nice as possible - and then mess it up over the years LOL. It's not so much the appearance as wanting a nice straight edge to be able to work from. I got the new blade...
I picked up a new to me bench at auction last week - its made from heavy angle iron and has a 3/4" plate top. Unfortunately the top was flame cut so two edges are less than desirable (2 factory edges will be acceptable). I hit it quick with a grinder as you can see in the close up. Obviously...
Thanks alpha- I will reach out directly to get more info from you. I'm open to any and all options- I'll try to post some pics as this floor is beyond rough - almost needs a curb grinder -not a diamond grinder :))
thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately about 1" is all the space I would have to raise due to door swings/thresholds. Even that might be pushing it since nothing is straight/square/level and seems to move alot. I'm curious what other ideas might be out there for different products to cap...
I have a 1000 sq ft workshop area I'm finishing off in a 100 year old barn. Humidity control is critical to the work I'll be doing in this shop. I have insulated walls and ceilings and drywalled. I'm now left with the floor. It's rough - in texture, and has its ups and downs like 50-75 year...
Thanks for your hospitality Pat! We all had a great time touring your shops and seeing all the equipment. Hopefully I can send some more business your way in the near future? Your home shop is one we all dream about - I doubt there is much that couldn't be made there! The '67 427/435 is a...
Very nice! I'm following along too as I have both the red one like this and the white one with "shelves" that need restoration..... Can't wait to see the end result! Great family history too!
Here a few pics - sorry they aren't the greatest. These are from seller I bought it from. I just got it home after buying it almost a year ago and haven't taken any new photos yet. I tried to zoom in on the bracket in question. I believe they may be the same as on yours?? Happy to take some...
Looks great Don - those brackets look identical to the ones hanging on a large rolling 3 head Alemite greaser I just picked up. If you want to borrow one for a pattern, I'd be happy to help. I'm sure your newly cast ones will work great if they are done- but if you want any help LMK.
