Haynes Manual for GM N cars. If you can use it, let me know, and I will mail it to you. You can send me reimbursement for postage. Just want this to be useful to someone.

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

Would solid cribbing like shown in this thread be sufficient to support a bottle jack and a few-hundred-pound load? I have a possible need to unbolt a subframe on a W-body GM and support it while I replace a power steering line. I have Quickjacks but trying to figure out the way to support...

Nice cart for s(h)ure. Don't they make microphones or audio equipment?

Decent brake line flare nut wrenches

It has definitely been covered previously. Many posters, myself included, will tell you to bite the bullet and buy the Snap-on because nothing else works as well. In the flare nut wrench world, you definitely get what you pay for. I have some metric US-made S-K and they work okay, but they...

    New Alliance Vendor: Olsa Tools

I use my bolt size gauge all the time; it's a huge time-saver. HIGHLY recommended.

Show me (And discuss) your toolbox organizers...

Just curious--does anyone have ignition wrench organization pictures?

Local, independently owned old-timey tool stores

Three locations in Pennsylvania, the latest of which was just opened in the last couple of years. Paul B Hardware They carry a LOT of tools. A couple of years ago, I needed a 29mm impact socket, and they had an SK in stock, and I gladly bought it. As a matter of fact, they had an aisle full...

    Maximizing storage

How to maximize space? Store like tools together. Go vertical vs. horizontal. Use the tool drawers only for tools; leave your supplies and spare fasteners and whatnot elsewhere. To really maximize space, think very carefully about acquisition of new tools. Buy things only if they solve a...

    Milwaukee M12 Impact Wrench (Ratchet)

I find that for my needs, the normal impacts cover all uses well enough. I'm not opposed to buying a new tool, being a GJer, but it does seem to me that this M12 impact didn't solve any problems. As previously mentioned, the tool just doesn't have the guts to work as a decent impact...

    Milwaukee M12 Impact Wrench (Ratchet)

Absolutely correct. It's noticeably weaker than expected. It looked useful and I had some coupons or something, so I bought it, but I haven't found any job that it does better than anything else. I couldn't recommend it in its current iteration either.

    Throwing Away Tools

Hey, @NUTTSGT, don't forget to stick a ratchet in there before you might have to use that socket set. :)

    Throwing Away Tools

If it breaks or otherwise frustrates me, it's gotta go. Tools need to solve problems, not create them. Last thing I threw the f*** away was a pair of Robogrip pliers that came in a box lot. They were fine for a bit, but as soon as they failed, they went into the trash where they belonged.

Went on my first estate sale haul and failed badly

Dude, if you went to an estate sale and found overpriced stuff and declined to spend any of your hard-earned money on it, then you won. It's a negative to overpay for something, in my book. There will be another drill press and Kennedy box in future.

How many of you buy duplicates of the same type of tool and what do you do with them?

For a while, I would buy every quality ratchet I found for a few dollars. Even if I already had a bunch. I couldn't resist a less than $10 US ratchet, which is how I ended up with a collection. Wright, Indestro, Gray, SK, Williams, Proto, Thorsen... Now, what do I do with them? Not much...
